Most red clover is a weak perennial or strong biannual. Bearcat red clover has been selected for more longevity.

Special attention was given to disease resistance and a longer stand life. Selection from the breeding plots did not even start until the third year of growth. Bearcat red clover was developed in northwestern Indiana by a very qualified, experienced plant breeder and has performed exceptionally well in yield trials.

So when you decide to seed a new pasture or frost seed an existing pasture, consider planting the longer-lived Bearcat red clover. It provides you a better return on your investment (see results of overseeding Bearcat here) in reduced seeding costs over the years as well as better yield and persistence.
