This video shows the bowl, valve, float valve, and the coarse clean out. Not the big thread and quality gasket; all components are very easy to work with.
The black float balls in the Tru Test WaterWell 2 heat up faster in the sun. They absorb the sun and heat, allowing the solar radiation to keep ice from forming around the edge.
The bowl design features a lip with a gasket underneath to keep wind from leaking through and freezing the valve; it’s a simple design with a lot of water capacity to hold heat in a climate where we can see 30-35 below zero.
The float balls should installed a little tighter in the colder climate to limit freezing opportunity.
