Video: Cereal Rye & Radish Root Pit in Seed Corn Field

High Clearance seeded Aug 20th, seed corn harvested September 8th. Very dry at seeding, then 1/4 inch of rain, right after seeding and no rain for 2 weeks. It seemed we got germination and then total failure . . . 36 inches roots tell us otherwise . . .

On September 9, this farmer seeded cereal rye and radish into standing corn. The seeding rate was 48 pounds per acre. Part of the field was harvested before October 16th, and then the rest of it was harvested on October 23rd.

Video: Wheat & Radish Mix to Make Haylage

The farmer is mixing in 2 pounds of radish with his wheat in order to scavenge leftover nitrogen from the manure. If everything works out as planned, there should be a radish seed every 8-10 inches.
