Video: First Year Cover Crop in Continuous No Till System

This field has been in continuous no-till for more than 25 years. So the question is "Will cover crops help improve this system?

On September 3rd, a mix of radish and annual ryegrass  was seeded with a highboy spreader. In the field was a still very green 110 day hybrid that eventually got harvested on October 20. The top growth in this field is less than impressive, but the root pit showed some better than average root depth, with annual ryegrass pushing close to 3 feet deep.
